Do you want to talk about a hobby of yours? Do you want to do reviews? Ask yourself about the website’s purpose and you will discover that the content is obvious. Content is really the key to a great website, contrary to what others might tell you about design or layout.
Design and layout are important as well, of course. The usability is one of the biggest factors when designing your website. Make sure that your content is easily read and all of your links work. Make the layout simple, so that it doesn’t distract from your content.
And of course, update your content often. Take some time each week to add more content and update any existing content. What is something new that your visitors would like to see or know? Let them see it! Let them know it! Again, I cannot stress how important the content aspect of a website is.
It is also important to seek feedback from your audience. Make sure you have a means of checking your statistics and don’t be afraid to ask for reviews and feedback. Your visitors will let you know what works and doesn’t for your particular site. Listen to them.
